Maybe attending training in person isn’t an option for you. There are still ways to learn more. Below are some of our favorite online learning opportunities. Check back often for the latest and greatest.

Training Colorado’s Mandated Reporters (FREE)

One of the most valuable resources for preventing and responding to child abuse and neglect are Mandated Reporters. The State of Colorado offers comprehensive training and guidance for Mandated Reporters on topics including:

  • Recognizing child abuse and/or neglect
  • Understanding the legal responsibility to report
  • Making a report
  • Overcoming concerns about reporting
  • Understanding the Child Protective Services process

The training takes about two hours to complete and can be done at your own pace. The program is tailored to 5 different audiences to provide specific information for healthcare providers, mental health professionals, educators, first responders and other professional groups. This prevention training program teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for individuals concerned about the safety of children as well as organizations that serve youth. The online version allows individuals to take the training at any time or place, at a pace of their choosing. The course takes around 2 hours to complete and has a $10 fee attached.
